Quality issue with wheel leg Altrex MiTOWER

We would like to inform you about a quality problem with the wheel leg of the MiTOWER. Our records shows that you recently have received one or more configurations or parts of the MiTOWER Series.

Deviation in the wheel leg

During our quality control we have discovered a deviation in the wheel leg that could possibly lead to dangerous situations. When processing the thread of the wheel leg, the depth of the thread has been cutted too much, which has resulted that the body of the leg is less compared to the minimum aluminium thickness as described by Altrex. When working on or moving the MiTOWER on an uneven surface, there is a possibility that the aluminium of the wheel leg will tear and the wheel will break off. The MiTOWER is therefore unsafe in combination with the wheel leg and should therefore not be used.

Delivery between November 17th, 2021 and December 13th, 2021

It is possible that you have received one or more products equipped with these legs. Delivery of this batch took place between November 17th, 2021 and December 13th, 2021.

The castor and leg assembly (art. no. 324521) that have a quality problem can be recognised by the engraved batch code 'LU21/08'. This batch code can be found when you remove the wheel leg from the assembly frame. A list of MiTOWER configurations in which this castor and leg assembly is being used can be found at the bottom of this page.
