• Inspection and possible repair action collar tubes

    During the production process of the collar tubes (from our sub-supplier) some defects were found during quality control, which may effect our Mobile Access Towers (inclusive the MiTOWER series).
    Only a small part of the frames produced showed an unacceptable deformation, which could cause
    the collar tube to tear off. This may create a dangerous situation for the user.
    On this page we will tell you exactly what to do and how we can fix this.

    What to do?

    It is crucial that you check the relevant scaffold frames as soon as possible and before using the scaffold. All Altrex mobile access tower frames with a production date between week 30 and week 50 of 2024 should be checked. The production date can be found on the sticker on the side of the frame, between the 2nd and 3rd rung. If the frame has a production date between: XX-2430 and XX-2450 then it must be tested!

    How can I test a frame?

    You can easily test the frame yourself. Learn how to do this in the instructions below and watch the video below for visual support.

    Do the collar tubes bend or tear? If so, they are defective and should be replaced! If one collar tube does not pass the test and the other one does, both collar tubes should be replaced. Do both collar tubes remain intact? Then replacement is not necessary.

    Have you successfully replaced the collar tubes? Then the frame is again in compliance with all applicable standards, laws and norms and can also be used safely again immediately.
